Jimi Hendrix
First up for me is Jimi Hendrix. I have been a Hendrix fan since I was 8 years old and I am now.......well considerably older than that, so let's just say I have been a fan for many years. In my opinion he still is the most influential guitarist of all and continues today, nearly 40 years after his death, to have the absolute respect and admiration of millions of aspiring guitarists, all around the world.
A one off, unique talent, this video shows that while he is often remembered for his flamboyant, extravagant live performances, the real Hendrix was just a pure, natural musician.

I've spent most of my life listening to rock and blues based rock with a smattering of female vocalists thrown in for when I've been in a more melancholy mood.
Classical music and jazz, I've always felt I should be listening to but as hard as I've tried I've just never cracked them…until I came across this album. If it's not one of the greatest albums of all time well…..it should be and if you have a spare 7 odd minutes then watch this video for a fascinating insight into it's background.

John Bonham
OK well my son is an aspiring drummer, doing a 2 year music degree at Sussex University and I introduced him to John Bonham when he was just 8 years old. Now at the age of 19 he still continues to use Bonham as a standard to reach...not an easy thing to do!
Not only was Bonham part of one of the greatest rock bands of all time, for me, like Hendrix he was and still is 40 odd years later one of the most influential drummers ever...amazing! Hope you enjoy this.
